Ah, sorry - I really ought to have said that. To my point about being re-made: another consequence is that this doesn’t feel particularly padded. It feels like today’s relatively standard “light padding”, rather than something more robust and heavily padded. Think: SuSu OTR standard padding.Thanks. That looks good, mate. Wear in good health. That looks fantastic. Care to share the specific details of this commission? What model did you chose and did you specify anything specific in the notes? From an old MTM I did in a heavyweight fresco requesting roping
I can dig it up..this was a few years ago and was in person MTM. I was however quite involved with the specs and wrote some detailed notes for them to pass on to the factory/along with some pics and speaking to Rick. If I find the order# you could prob quote thatThat looks fantastic. Care to share the specific details of this commission? What model did you chose and did you specify anything specific in the notes?
That'd be great. I'd love to take part of the notes and the order # as well.I can dig it up..this was a few years ago and was in person MTM. @DonRaphaelYou can use Ref# B1406-F to refer to the garmet, rope. No extension. Specified 10.5 cm for lapel width which is just over 4 inches. Padding I believe is standard although upon receipt of the final garment I did request an additional pad on the left shoulder to correct for the drop there. I also requested a 4 layer canvas which is more robust than their standard. Once again, this is not my preference for all suiting, this was a 13/14oz fresco so I kind of leaned all in with the whole suit of armour vibe this time around. I also live in Ontario so, it gets cold. The weight is noticeable when compared to other jackets (surprisingly even against my M&E undyed check from last FW), but not uncomfortably so, i.e. it is very reassuring to be enveloped in such a beefy cloth.
There should be a string loop on the other lapel, however in my case, and others, if I recall correctly, the loop is about half the size of the button so it’s unusable, unless you get it fixed. It’s a nice feature if you plan on wearing it outside in a colder weather - could help help some warmth in.
That looks seriously excellent. From an old MTM I did in a heavyweight fresco requesting roping
Thanks! Took 1 remake on the jacket and 2 on the trousers (I think, from memory) but got it done ..I would say I am 90% happy with the jacket and maybe 70% with the trousers which still have some issuesThat looks seriously excellent.
Yes, yes and if there's no budget constraint.
@spiermackay why don’t we run a poll or something? This is a great idea IMO.Pretty fabrics. Should really organize a group MTO!
Does anyone own one of the Abraham Moon buffalo check overshirts? Thoughts?
That's probably one of the best-executed MTOs I've seen from Spier. Bravo. I might have to use those requests at some point. From an old MTM I did in a heavyweight fresco requesting roping
