Here's it opened up

IMO it looks better open, but you're correct that a longer jacket would work better with your proportions. As unfortunate as it is, I hope you'll end up with something that works for you.

I often have to remind myself that not all products will work on myself.

Have to say that it looks kind of nice, but living in Europe, I dislike ordering from American sites, too much of a hassle with the customs, shipping etc. :)

I'm in Europe too, ordered from US Amazon, only cost €60 or so all in but took months and months to arrive. :)

Love to see the Orslow one when it arrives. I've thought about buying it a few times.

Just arrived, and I think its proportions look much better for me since it's about 4cm longer! :)

What’s the best way to order from Toyo’s webstore? I assume by proxy.

I used ZenMarket to purchase from Toyo's site, stuff came in without a hitch (although, shipping a bit steep because they cannot ship via EMS (their USPS) or FedEx (because they were clothes? I didn't understand the reasoning) so I had to go with DHL.

Thanks. I have two Toyo shirts and a couple Jazz records pending with them.

Alright guys, guess I'm hanging out here since I've been kicked out of the leather jackets thread.

Anyone pick up interesting Toyo stuff lately? I grabbed the Gibson N-3B last month and it's just a fantastic parka all around. Probably my first heavy duty winter parka. I'm glad I went up a size compared to my size in the slim Gibson MA-1. (I have the MA-1 in a 40, which approximates a medium in the N-3B, which I got in large.)

The patterning on this is fantastic. I have full range of motion despite the thick insulation, and the hood design (which I know goes back to the original spec, not Rickson's, and further back to the Inuits) is extremely useful. Worn down it's basically a scarf. Worn up, it practically becomes a mask against heavy snow, or a face guard to a normal hood.

I've been thinking about snagging a non-stenciled BR Deck Jacket. Will likely cop it sometime this year. There's just something deeply appealing about the style.

Also have my BR 1942 chino's arriving today from Rail Car after a tapering service. Had them cut to match my Warehouse chinos as I found the original cut just too wide for my tastes.

The wide cut of the 1942 chinos is very appealing in a way but it's definitely a statement, which limits its versatility. In practice, I think for most people they'd blend in more easily if worn as casual pants than as business casual.

The 1945 model is trimmer, though I mostly like it for that beautiful tan shade. There's also the 'Original Cut' model, which is like the faux-40s khakis worn by Steve McQueen in The Great Escape; I think those would make great under-the-radar pants.

Incidentally, last time I talked BR chinos on SF, some guy was trying to argue the superior fit and look of these:

Glad to be in saner company!
