I have developed a real fondness for the Grand Seiko watches featured in the Special Luxury catalogues from 1969-72.
Impressive references, some gorgeous dials and lots of meticulous handwork in the cases and diversity in shapes of cases.
Sweet spot in terms of case dimensions as well.

Think I gotta make room from all the incomings, this (neo) vintage IWC Ingenieur is up for sale.

My grandfather's Timex from 1967/8. My father bought this for grandpa when he was 13 or so.

The perfect watch in my mind. 20220315_101611.jpg

For anyone who is curious about what makes vintage Grand Seiko special, have a look at the case and dial finish of the exceptional ref. 6145-8030 featured on the Grand Seiko Guy’s Instagram account.

The modern Q variants get posted on r/watches relatively frequently, and I've wondered whether for some people it is a "secret signal" of their adherence to QAnon.
I hope not, I bought the 1978 reissue. I would hate to have to throw it into a wood chipper

I'm bummed that I have not seen more activty on this thread! I will--hopefully--have a rebuild to post about soon. Admittedly, it's a bit of frankenwatch, as I'm not sure how else to make it happen. I have a Herodia movement and dial, but no case. Got myself a Timex case that fits the movement's dimensions. Anyway, should things work out I'll have a new addition to at least show.
