I would like to order a custom sport coat from @spierandmackay. I would likely need a 46L. Since all orders are final sale, and I cannot seem to find measurements online for this size, what can I do? TIA.

So I bought the cotton pleated shorts when first came out this year in my regular slim fit size and didn’t like them, I felt there were little too short and too slim. I decided to give them another shot on the last sale and opted to size up one and go to contemporary, and I absolutely loved them. It made a big difference for me

On the website, go to make a custom sport coat. Just can just choose any random fabric and leave the styling details set to the defaults. Click Next to progress to the next step, where you enter your size. If you choose 46L (or any other size) all the default measurements are populated on the page

Has Spier and Mackay done any shetland sweaters in the past, and, if so, what's the quality we can expect? $88 seems too good to be true for the ones on preorder right now.

Hi folks,

I’ve been eyeing on Harris Tweed herringbone sportscoat in Neo fit. Most of my jackets are from Suitsupply, and this was my jacket purchase from S&M.

I am usually in between 36 and 38, so decided to buy both sizes. 36 is little snug and 38 is perhaps too roomy. I’d greatly appreciate your comments on sizing and alterations if needed. Thx!

I’d go with the 38 if you plan on layering. 36 if not layering. They both look serviceable.

I think from the pics the 36 is your size - looks very flattering on you.

I'm not one for "tight" sportcoats...to me this 36 is slimming without looking tight.

the 36 is too small. it's pulling in the chest, or is just about to. if you put on any weight at all you're going to be in trouble.

the length of the 38 is better. the buttoning point on the 38 is more flattering. it's a little bit of a looser fit but it's way more likely to last you the next 10+ year than the 36, which again, may already be too small.

keep the 38 and have it slightly nipped in the waist. maybe shorten the sleeves half an inch.

I'm team 38. As others have said, you could probably get away with the 36 if you let the waist out a little (and maybe even the chest), but it's a tweed jacket, meant for fall/winter and it'd be ideal to have the room to layer if you want, plus it's meant to be relaxed (in my opinion).

When you look at the side profile you can see that the back drops straight down instead of coming in a little, which is exactly what you want it to do. You do you, but I think it's better to err on the side of a little extra, especially for something worn during the holiday season!

Thanks gentlemen for your insightful feedback! I understand that sizing is quite subjective and depends on how you want to use it (ex. Layering or no layering, etc)

Perhaps, I wonder if I need to try 38R Slim and 38S contemporary as well.

Both looks great. it depends on what look you are trying to achieve. Between the 2, I choose 38. I like the length better, and I prefer jackets more loose. few years ago, I would have chosen 36 but style evolves with time. By the way, I have the same jacket and it is fantastic for the winter.
