Something to keep in mind when ripping on folk virtually, or otherwise. I can’t remember the exact circumstances, but he exhibited some obvious (in hindsight) signs of being in mental/emotional crisis. Some here were not kind to say the least. Can’t remember who… and they’re probably not around anymore anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Some vibe shifts in here since that time, and yeah the more vocal and vitriolic posters are long gone. I think I remember Fade2black standing out wearing Yohji and stuff, very unusual. There were a few other designer fashion eccentrics but it was more current names like Rick, Thom Browne etc

Oh wow I remember him from the sufu days. Had no idea he had such renown as a painter. Sad to see talent like that go too early.

i thought the profile was most interesting in discussing evolution of genre , i suppose it's basically impossible to write something like this without indulging in objectifying talent for currency ... but i didn't think it was too crass in the end . rip .

Yes, I posted on here when it happened. It was really affecting me deeply; as I remember him since the early sufu days, as fade2black. He was one of the first adopters of the loose yohji fit. Then he became an artist with amazing pieces, a true talent. He had such a future. So sad
