Has SF been dog-slow for anyone else lately?

I figured it was a just retrofit over the holiday weekend that ran over estimate. Been there, done that.

Site performance seems back to normal today.
We've been working to make all the moving parts fit. Probably, if the site is slow for you, the best thing is to start a conversation with @admin, and include your IP and time. There are so many parties involved and so many moving parts that all that information helps us track down the problem and yell at people if need be.

I mostly use the site in a desktop browser, and the delayed ad loading frequently means that I go to click on something and it shifts position because another ad loads. I can tolerate it on desktop, but I had to start using an ad blocker for mobile because it became flatly unusable. I would happily stop using the blocker if y'all can resolve this.

Hmm… this is the “benefit” of lazy load, in which content loads before ads. However, the technology was designed for a time in which dynamic ad sizing was not a thing, much less standard practice. Let’s see if we can get this fixed somehow. It could possibly be a server speed issue as well. I long for the days when this technology was simpler.

And the stack wasn't so brittle?
