I wore an oxford shirt, off-white khakis, a light brown d-ring belt and brown on brown spectators Sunday morning for my cousin's twin's baptism and my wife said I looked 'nice'... thats a huge compliment, coming from someone who told me once when I was wearing a plaid green and brown shirt, raw denims and Alden Indy's that I looked 'rustic'

In Paris I never get any comments, but hardly surprising since the kind of look prevalent on this forum can be seen on every other guy in my office. SF standard is the norm here.
However, whenever I got back to the SW of the UK to visit our office there I get comments, usually along the lines of "looking very Parisien". That kind of thing. Sort of a compliment, but sort of a jealous comment too.

Grading papers in the office Saturday and expecting to meet nobody, hair unfixed, wearing trackpants, sneakers, and the university sweatshirt (which I got for free), my department head showed up and told me that somehow I could manage to make even the free university sweatshirt look good. I thought it was a nice compliment.

Since I don't wear a suit to work every day, my colleagues do take notice when I do and I usually get a few compliments as a result. Generally speaking, women will make comments/compliments about my shoes and the brilliant shine I've got going. Oh, and I still get asked for id every so often when I buy smokes... I take that as a compliment to my youthful good looks.

You should have proceeded to put out your cigar on her forehead. Somebody has to keep the plebs in check.

I attended a wine-tasting event with some colleagues from my firm at Les Zygomates in Boston's Leather District. The organizer looked at how I was dressed and said that she wished half the men at the firm dressed as well as I did (in front of a few partners and some alumni who are fairly up there, no less). It was embarrassing, but I thanked her for the compliment and hurried out to flirt with the waitress. And I wasn't wearing anything special - dark blue shirt with gray stripes and a blue sweater on top, a gray houndstooth sport coat and gray slacks with black chelsea boots. On another note, Les Zygomates rocked. They've some fantastic stuff there, and I loved their food-wine pairings.

My clear frame eyeglasses have been getting positive comments virtually daily. I'm actually surprised that people comment so much on clear frames since, after all, they are clear.

get them almost daily. usually get weird looks from the guys since i'm the only guy in the office that wears ties, sport coats, anything fitted/tailored, etc (it's a really casual dress attire). i guess it's a little biased since i'm 1 of 2 guys in my department. but it's always nice to hear, "you're the only guy i know that dresses like you do and not be gay, especially here at work."

Got a compliment on my shoes. The guy said "Shoes that nice must be Stacy Adams".
I said thanks and kept on walking. I was wearing a black pair of Grants (RLPL)
