Yeah, I guess that's also to show how everything in the world he describes is interchangeable, bland and without any real meaning. Everything gets blurred because everything in Bateman's microcosm basically looks/tastes/sounds the same, and no one really cares. All the human interactions are obviously surface level as well.

I mean it’s also the main device to show how unreliable the narrative is and confuse what’s real with what’s fantasy/delusion

...and ostrich loafers from Susan Bennis Warren Edwards...

At this point DWW would have pointed out that those shoes makes you look like a "shoe guy".

He'd probably be right.

I've been reading American Psycho and, without the insult someone could take out of this, it makes me wonder whether DWW would identify with Patrick Bateman:
Depends on what Patrick Bateman thinks about recent drake’s pricing.

He blocked me off instagram for liking a comment on a post of his. I used to defend him on here too. Guess he’s super sensitive ever since he left here.

I still enjoy his writing, but man that’s a whole new level of sensitivity right there and I’d be lying if I didn’t think that was lame of him.

He may have left because of other stresses in his life that were exacerbated by his participation here. We always believe we know the people who exist in this strange realm, but we know very little about them. And, we rarely, if ever, know their emotional state.
