That's exactly my point when I talked about the few people who push boundaries. But even the creativity of boundary pushers tends to be overstated because they themselves operate within a context (for instance, artist communities) that encourages and reifies what they do.

Even you aren't close to being outside the bounds of individual variations on a theme. True, you wear color and pattern combinations that most of us wouldn't, but you still pretty much adhere to traditional notions of what it is men should wear. Albeit in a more boundary pushing way.

Because in SF we're limited to thread themes. I don't post half of the assembles I use IRL as they have no place here.

For length I Personally always make sure the jacket covers my rear and thats pretty much the consensus on this forum. The thumb trick can help but honestly isn't the most reliable.

And just to clear up the SF thing, it stands for styleforum and not San Francisco. I was confused as well at first.

Thanks for providing guidance on the suit jacket length and clarification on SF.

Yeah, we all have our metrics for that. For me the struggle has been to learn to trust my own judgement and taste. Every salesperson and commenter gives you an opinion that sounds like gospel, but style is style. By definition it’s personal.
Guilty and agreed.

I bought a blazer 3 years ago that looked too short to me, but I let the salesman tell me it looked fine on me.

It does look fine, but not ideal, the bolded is the key.

Got my fawn corduroy suit in yesterday. This thing feels bulletproof. Very solid.

Had to settle for the slim trousers, no contemporary left in my size. I have skinny legs so they'll work, but I was looking for a little more fullness with the cords. Beggars can't be choosers though, and with the sale price and the discount, I couldn't pass it up.
