Are shops in LA generally open? I ask because I ordered from The Stronghold a couple weeks ago, and they aren’t shipping, responding to emails, or answering the phone. I’m thinking about calling Amex to do a chargeback.

I’d try DMing them on Instagram before resorting to a chargeback, they’re still posting.

Does anyone know of Black-owned companies, including retailers and brands, that fit the aesthetics discussed on this forum?

Some that came to my mind:

Ikire Jones
Post Imperial
Ozwald Boateng
Maurice Sedwell
Public School
Norweigan Rain
Abasi Rosborough
Pyer Moss (a little outside of the styles we talk about here, but close)
Union

There's a men's shop in Maplewood, New Jersey called City Workshop Men's Supply Co. that's owned and operated by a black couple. They carry brands known around these parts, including (but not limited to) 3sixteen, Iron Heart, Reigning Champ, American Trench, Gitman Vintage, Merz B Schwanen, Red Wing and more.

They haven't been able to open their shop given the pandemic, so I'm sure they'd appreciate an online purchase!

DWW Already posted an article on PTO with black-owned business. It does seem tailored to a more menswear crowd but it's also clearly not an article like "hey here's alllll the fashion related black-owned brands". If anybody is curious about that, though, BoF posted something with 5 or 6 pages of labels.
One that I'll add, but haven't seen mentioned yet, is Lownn.
