i dunno, i'd have to think more about the consumption of ready-made entertainment vs. publicly generated content within profit-driven media--andthe operations of pleasure/satisfaction in the discernment of meaning in those different configurations.

I have noticed that a lot of undergrad Chinese international students do tend to stick together, but it makes sense to me. They’re in a foreign land experiencing a completely different culture, language, and values. I think they’d benefit the most joining Asian/Chinese college clubs, but there’s obviously going to be a big cultural disconnect between them and 2nd generation Asian Americans. I can’t see most of them getting along.I see a fair number of Chinese students who had serious communication problems, even today. A lot of them learn to communicate in English well, but it does take time.
