If you trust your local tailor to make the fixes, I would do that despite the cost. Get it now, be done with it and dont look back.

I do trust him but it will cost $200-$300. I may do so regardless as I have no patience to wait another 6-8 months.

My NMWA Minnis flannel commission is done:
On a dummy in Naples:

On a different dummy in USA:

Looks really nice. I'm still trying to build up the nerve to get my first db and one of my concerns is whether to go 6x2, 4x2, or 4x1. How did you arrive at 4x2 and how do you feel about it?

Pretty simple for me. I do 6X2 for business suits and 4X2 for non-business suits but I wouldn’t hesitate to go 4X1 on non-business suits. As you can see, these non-business suits are more casual and paired with patch pockets rather than flapped. Lord Superb gave me the final nudge to go with this less formal arrangement for non-business suits.

Hi, first time posting on this thread (that I can remember).

I'm having a trench coat made. The pattern, just completed is shown in the photo below. I anticipate someone will chime in to object that it's not bespoke, because I'm ordering online, without fittings along the way. But since nobody local to me can make such a technical garment, vulcanized with waterproof seams, it's the closest I can get to full bespoke. All the stylistic details I've chosen myself. I hope to provide updates as they come from the company doing the job (Hancock Vulcanised Articles).

Wow, interesting! I’m looking forward to the final result.

If you were to travel to Scotland (had to look up the company to see where they are based), would they allow fittings?

Good question, I'd like to think so, but I honestly don't know. If interested, I'd suggest reaching out to Hancock.

Hancock have advised me that they'll have pictures for me prior to shipping it out, so I plan to share here once I get them.

Regardless, I plan to post some of my own pics when I receive the coat.

I’ve always wanted a Mackintosh, but they never seem to fit me well and didn’t think anyone was doing bespoke rainwear. I need to drop Hancock an inquiry to understand the process.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm sure they'll be forthcoming with answers to any questions you may have. At least, that has been my experience.
