I am also curious as to what you guys think about Polo Ralph Lauren brand shirts.. polos or knits. I am able to find 80-90's era RLP's in thrift stores (I live in Dixie Land USA so there aren't many FP's or BS's for sale.. anywhere.) for cheap and they look pretty good under my jumpers/harringtons.

Thoughts?

I could have sworn I've seen a Polo button down shirt on a video about the Untouchables from the 80's. I don't really wear any Polo brand except for this one lambswool jumper.
Have you ever tried anything from Warrior? They're relatively cheap, and they ship worldwide, but I'm not really sure about the quality.

ironic that you had referred to "preppy douchebags" earlier in one of your first post but are interested in THE brand that caters to preps, esp in the 80s/90s.
if you want a cheap serviceable polo shirt, why not just get some Merona ones from Target? cheap, no logos, under a jacket will look like any other brand

Most of the Preps down this way wear American Eagle, Aeropostale, Under Armor, etc.. I don't see too many of them wearing RLP. I'll have to check out Merona. Thanks for the tip.

I've seen their clothing online, but tbh I don't really like their logo.

This thread is about Traditional Skinheads, Most written on here is about the Original Skinheads, by and large by Original skinheads, Most the stuff i put on here is about being a skinhead in the 60s,
We had no interest in politics, It was never discussed, don"t think any of us kids from the Estates of London would have understood it anyway, we was to young and maybe ignorant, I know i was.
As I have said before most of us was racialist in the 60s, without really understanding what it was all about, It was a racialist society back then, thats a historical fact.
But lets keep our present day politics to our selfs on this site, if not it will attract all sorts of nutters and just ruin the whole thing.

um, so you 'respect' someone who as far as i can see espouses nazi beliefs? WTF

i think Warbeast's problem is he wants to talk about "traditional style" which is fine, his political beliefs have nothing to do with that but has a Blood and Honour avatar which is a very political expression, and that's going to rub a lot of folks the wrong way

what I have issue with are skinheads who got into it BECAUSE they want to be political (left or right). and I dont agree with how being "far left" is often excused as better than being "far right". TBH it seems many times the far left are more of a disturbance and engage in political disturbances in the scene, than the far right which it seeks to demonize.

I agree. Aside from me and a friend of mine, most skins I know in my area are political activists. I have to say, though, I think the far right element is what made "skinhead" political and lumped everyone into a particular ideology in the eyes of society. As annoying as some of the red, sharp thing can get I can tell you that where I live (the south) "racialist" skinheads do far worse.

On the topic of DMs - I'll happily pay more for better made boots. I have the cheap Thai DMs. They're Squeaky and rigid even after having them for years. My For Life's, OTH, are great. Worth 2x the price, IMO. Don't think they're made in the UK though.

Funny enough they're also made in Thailand!

+3. I believe if we're going to keep politics out of the discussion, it shouldn't be reflected in any other sense (as in the avatar).

the leather is nice tho innit? really supple and soft, easily the most comfortable pair of boots I've worn. only minor quibble is the leather wants to stay a bit matte, I've gotten mine pretty well polished up to take a good shine, but it took longer than normal 1460 boot and even then I dont think it shines up as well, but it still looks nice.
