Thoughts on the latest item, the Sailing Chore Jacket?

I quite like it, but I am unsure of sailing/water-linked clothing items without a hood.

I think they are quite nice, especially the yellow one. Very wearable on a day to day basis. Not sure if I would buy one though. Even though I already have the green linen chore jacket, I quite like the yellow one too. Hope it will pop up in the next archivesale. These linen chore jackets are very nice!

i was checking this out earlier and agree it looks nice, i'm much more partial to the yellow, but should definitely have a hood for being a "foul weather coat"

additionally, i couldn't find anything information on whether it was lined or not. i assume it's unlined being a variation of a chore coat but that seems weird given the fabric selection of a treated heavy cotton.

I think they look really cool. I view it more as a colorful alternative to something like a Barbour jacket. I would probably check out the sunshine yellow if it hits the Archive.

You must be new here. We spend money only on clothes associated with hobbies in order to look interesting. We don't actually spend money on these hobbies.

Can anyone comment on how the Clifford boot or Wayford derby fit? Are they true to size (i.e., do you recommend ordering the UK size that's one size down from your US size)? Thanks!

Just received a batch of oxford shirts from Drake’s that I ordered using that buy-three deal. Decided on yellow ticking stripe, white and cream, all of which are lovely fabrics.

The curious addition of a pen(cil) compartment to the chest pocket isn’t really my preference at all but not necessarily a dealbreaker either. Sharing this for the benefit of those here as the change isn’t mentioned on the Drake’s website and isn’t especially apparent from most of their editorial efforts.

While we’re on the subject of oxford shirts, does anyone have any intel of how much these shirts shrink in the dryer? Sleeves are a tad bit long so I thought a cold wash and regular dryer run might sort that out. Have the same issue with Brooks Brothers and a warm wash/dry always gets the sleeves where they need to be but thought I should ask first!

In my experience, yes it should sort it out. After 3 or 4 washes I've found the Drake's oxfords to 'settle'. I always wash my shirts on 30C (no dryer). I'd say the sleeves shrink by 1 to 2cm.

Speaking of the Oxfords, and all the Drake's shirts for that matter, has anyone else noticed a lot of excess fabric under the armpit and in the upper sleeve ? I hadnt noticed it so much in the past, but it seems more pronounced now.
