The khakis have had multiple seasons of changing dimensions so it's very confusing. The latest rounds supposedly fixed the previous year's mistakes of being cut too slim.

If you find 32 contemp dress trousers snug, you should definitely go to a 33 contemp for the khakis IMO.
I'm looking at the current ones, and a 33 has a 16.3 hem according to the size chart. That sounds enormous for casual trousers.

Sounds like a 33 will be necessary for my thighs though.

Thanks man.
I've had difficulty in choosing trousers In the Spier collection... Contemporary is much to wide for me, and slim looks great in the mirror but seeing I have no ass it looks wierd and bunches in that area :(
I finally kept a khaki and hope the fit changes after wearing and drying, but not keeping my hopes up and of it doesn't, (cheap) lesson learned.

Care to post pics? I'm fully stocked on shoes so never gave them a try but one day maybe.. Also covid times is perfect occasion for wearing inside. They are still clean, and you can wear them for a few couple hours a time to get used to them:)
They did come out with an extra slim fit variation, looks like it has smaller thighs and butt than the slim fit version.

@spiermackay are the size charts on each khaki page accurate?

it says the 5-pocket cords fit slim, but then the size chart is basically the same as the khakis that came out right now

@zewill

Pics were taken quickly. I threw on some crappy chino's. But you get the idea. Laces are too long, I will probably replace them in the future.

Rick had mentioned to me that the size chart for the contemp khakis are wrong as a 36 hem should be 16.25. I don't think they changed it yet.

Apologies if this has been covered in the thread before; can anyone comment as to Fine twill vs Royal twill shirtings? Particularly in terms of breathability, weight, etc

The royal twill is significantly heavier and less breathable than the fine twill. For me personally, the fine twill wears already a bit too hot in the NYC summer heat, but feels perfect in the cooler months.

I wonder if anybody can shed some light on a query that I have. I recently bought these trousers from Luxire in December:

I am considering my first purchase from S&M and my eye has been drawn to a sportcoat in VBC medium gray flannel.

My question is: are these two items made from the same cloth? I am colourblind so do not pick up on the subtleties of colour particularly well. However, I would like to know if I could combine the separates and make a suit.

Thanks in advance.
