I just avoid buying their cotton shirts, sad to say. I've bought 10-15 and ended up donating them all after severe shrinkage.

Unfortunately, I have similar issue with the merino turtleneck sweaters. Fit was great, but after 3 wears, the seam where the neck meets the chest let go and a 3 inch long tear developed. To be fair, they offered to send me another if I sent the torn sweater back, but I'd already tossed it, so just out the original sweater I guess.

I remember Rick mentioning they were "looking into it" last fall. Is it me or is S&M not being very proactive in ensuring their website and stock at an optimum level?

No I think they are doing it, and promptly from what I have seen. Was told the above just a few weeks ago. I would expect an update to the site soonish

I had my last MTM shirts washed prior and that seemed to work. But not everyone knows that is an option. My order also took 12 weeks (not sure if there is any correlation,or just unrelated issues)

Sizing up in OTR works only if you know which shirts shrink, otherwise you end up with some that fit and some that are baggy.

My point is that the burden shouldn’t be on the customer to guess. Especially, when your target customer is expecting shirts in a given size to fit consistently.


12 weeks?! That's a good bit of time.

Well, this is a rather unfortunate situation - I ordered a peacoat and four dress shirts, and to my surprise, one of the dress shirts is missing from the package despite the packing slip appearing to indicate that it was in fact packed into the box.

The box has some minor damage (which I've come to expect), and the coat hanger is cracked, but there definitely wasn't enough of a bump/ding to allow a shirt to fall out.

I was strong enough to withstand the temptation of 25% off. Not so much for 20% off lol. I'm a weak man. Mohair tux ordered :bigstar:
