Ok so here’s some photos of a 42S w/ 35 contemporary trousers. These feel and look better (to my untrained eye) — what do you think? I’m willing to try a 36, but I feel like I’d be swimming in them.

I added shots of the charcoal 35 contemporary trousers with the 42R jacket. I feel like the length of the 42R jacket is better ...

What say you, gents: 42R + 35 trousers or 42S + 35? (Or @SJR3 do you still believe 36 trousers are necessary after seeing the 35s?)

I appreciate the help guys. This is a bit daunting after wearing a uniform full-time for the last six years.

I think the 42R works better than the S. The S isn't egregiously short, though, and you could probably get away with it if you prefer the more modern/cropped look.
This. But to be honest, I like how the R looks.

What are the opinions on ties from S&M?
I like them a lot. They tie a nice knot. I'm waiting for Rick to start offering some more ties.

I just got two in and subsequenltly ordered three more if that tells you anything haha

Very soft and the ties so easily

I would love to buy a few but am anxiously awaiting them to be available in Long sizes (62"). With an 18" neck and a 42L/44L jacket size, I really need a few extra inches. #thatswhatshesaid

To my eye, the 42R is a better length (body length). The S is a bit too S. And there really isn't a fix for that. You can take up the sleeves and nip the 42 R a bit in the waist, as you mentioned

@spiermackay - Sizing question regarding turtleneck. what size should i take in the turtleneck sweater if i wear 40 slim in sport coats. Thanks

I’m a 40 slim and a large in the V neck was pretty big, maybe it would be ok over an oxford. I ordered a medium in the turtleneck and it arrived today, I’ll snap a pic shortly.

Thanks and that would be very helpful.

I’m seeing a lot of love for the VBC grey windowpane but no pics in the wild. Anyone got some to share?
