Poor product selection

I think the Canadian retail landscape is much stronger now than it was when Nomad first opened and leaves less room for poor buys (neighbor and understudy just two examples of shops with great buys). There's a streetwear shop in just about every major urban city whereas a decade ago that wasn't the case. I guess the poor product came as a result of trying to differentiate themselves from others while not really knowing who or what their clientele was/wanted. And despite the high tarrifs, sometimes it just makes more sense to purchase from an American retailer.

Both online and in the city, there is just a lot more competition. And Nomad's prices were never great.

If you live in Manhattan eventually you won’t be able to keep all the stuff (or got to pay for it..., at $1000/sqft even for coop)

Yeah, but then you would live in Manhattan. And seriously, why would you want that?

Yeah coffee is pretty indisputably fine if you have it black without sweetener, and drink it in such a way that it doesn't effect your sleep. Alcohol has pretty decent evidence behind it too but its nature makes it pretty hard to recommend. Moderation is just not a particularly realistic thing.

Its Nature? Maybe for someone in their 20's such as yourself.

It's easy for me to recommend.

Moderation is realistic for people who want it to be.

I have no problem drinking in moderation, is it really all or nothing for most?

From a public health perspective.

e.g. it's pretty non-controversial to say "eat 10 servings of vegetables/fruit a day". But saying "drink 1-2 servings of alcohol" to the general public is a recipe for disaster.

I mean, maybe kids binge drink, but adults typically have very routine, moderate, regimes. I'll have a glass of wine with dinner, and don't feel compelled to drink more. I think that most people are similar?
