i don't mind Golden Goose. i get it: beat up white sneakers are cool. they sell "beat up" white sneakers. from a purely visual place, that's fine. from an "authenticity" standpoint...get over it? though i guess it's telling that none of their **** has ever compelled me to buy.

why would i get over it when there are things in the world that i don't like and my taste is the only taste that matters?

What's the appeal of Golden Goose sneakers, anyway? Is it a hypebeast thing?
They are sorta cool looking in a very scuzzy LA dirtbag way, which is as the makers intended. I like some of them, and they are super comfortable to boot, which is not like all designers sneakers (also comfortable - Visvim, Hender Scheme if you get he right size, Ann Demeulemeester.) I don't think that it's a hypebeast thing. The distribution is very traditionally seasonal. I have a couple of pairs, though neither gets a lot of wear these days.

No idea, the whole label is terrible imo. On another note, these don't look half bad, but >200€ for NB, ninja please.

I got a new (well, old, but new to me) Super Kazan rug that fits my living room perfectly. So happy with that purchase. Have wanted one for years, and just never found the right one. Mine has slightly more light colors than that, but then, my sofas are dark, so...

That's the normal price for made in USA NB 997 though. The Aime Leon Dore earlier this year were $230, sold out and are going for 2x that on StockX

People also like Antonio a lot. I think that goes a long way
I think that this is super important for brands like 18East. Unlike an Everlane, which sells a basics-lite, and whose value proposition is basically "We do pretty much the same, but cheaper" and the designers of the brand are nearly deliberately anonymous, something like 18East, without a strong frontman, is going to have a hard time getting of the ground.

Going to turn into no hypebeast walks alone

For the twelve years i've been seeing gg at fred segal I think i've ever only seen two pairs in the wild. Not sure who is propping up their business. The designs have never been great.

Apropos of nothing, my wife has an Everlane tote and, while basic, I'm frankly stunned by how well that thing has held up. Not sure why I wanted to share that, but there it goes.

I'm really, really fortunate my wife has not learned that there is a world outside of Dillards, J Crew, Madewell, and Everlane.
