Robbie, that gold is a tough color to pull off. It is hard to tell if it works because the photo is a bit washed out. I like the peaked lapels.

What you don't seem to get is that I'm not going to recommend anyone here dress anything like me. I'm capable of giving advice outside of the realm of what I would personally consider for myself. I'm not going to say, "hey man that's sweet, but a leopard print hoodie would take it to the NEXTLEVEL" because that's clearly a worthless suggestion. However, losing the beard and getting a better haircut? Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Hah! I have to represent my people. Though, in my case, it's nerdy programmer rather than nerdy, um, sad sack.

I need better glasses, a beard trim and a haircut of some kind, sure (not really sure what I want, which has led to the last 6+ months of not doing anything at all with it). I am not unaware of these things.

lmao i don't know, i don't think how you dress needs to necessarily be indicative of what your job is. i find people who seem to have contrasting appearances and lifestyles to be pretty interesting. i work in marketing at a toy company ffs

well, to be fair, there is a whole "health & body" section where topics like haircuts and beards get discussed pretty often. I think it's reasonable to give advice on those 2 things if you think it would make the wearer look better
