Luckily, we didn't see each other for the most part. For what it's worth, I'm glad I didn't follow the advice of banging her out. I couldn't imagine the hell this psycho-hose-beast could have wrought.

After the end of the semester, we both moved out. Me, to a more pleasant suburb. Her, back to NYC with her mom, commuting to summer school. I doubt she'll graduate within the year.

Here's the thing: If you're serious about decorating, and if you're buying things to have a long time, then it's probably worth fighting for what you like. But if you're only buying placeholder stuff -- stuff you don't really love and won't keep -- then I'd largely let her have her way, save for the stuff you really care about. Better to pick your battles wisely than wage a war on many fronts.

She'll win, eventually, anyway.

And dude, you have a ******* Miller lite beer mirror in your apartment. Maybe leave the aesthetic decisions to her.

I dont think that would suffice, you'll probably need something like what they did in Iwo Jima... take the pin out of the grenade and hold it tight to your torso.

This. You have little negotiating power as long as that mirror is on the wall. You're very lucky to be still **********.

I understand it has sentimental value, but please just stash it somewhere.
