Thank you for your feed back. Hopefully you gents will get all your new store inventory online. So we have more acces to buy things.Hi,
I find that they fit fairly true to size. The models we have are all quite slim. But cut very well, so people usually take their normal size.
We'll be getting a few different models. Our online store is currently linked to our original store, so the selection may vary slightly in the two new stores.
Did you actually say that to her???
Nope, I'm from England originally, and while that means I definitely get more dates than I deserve, it also means I react to the bad ones with paralyzing politeness.
To stay on topic, my opinions of the field jacket and shirt after having them around for a bit:
The field jacket is great. I sized up two sizes, since the 50 I got first lacked the stretch in the chest provided by the traditional cotton version, but sizing up on a field jacket is just fine because of the drawstring waist. The sleeves are long, which creates an interesting stacking effect - I generally turn up one collar for my watch. The zip/button closure is great for wearing multiple ways and for dealing with the changes in temperature across a long walk, but I wish the lower pockets were just slightly larger - I don't need them to fit Being and Time, but it's nice to be able to keep a little book in there. The suede is slightly lighter and less saturated than it appears on the website, which makes it great for wearing with softly coloured, Stoffa-esque outfits. It's an extremely versatile shade and goes with just about any trousers/shirt. I also tried the blue, which is a stronger colour - both more of a statement and more formal. Imo this is the perfect jacket for living in LA: lots of pockets, the right weight/material for a dry, not too cold winter, and a luxe casual vibe that works equally well in a Venice Beach cocktail bar or an Inland Empire taqueria. It's going to see a lot of wear this winter and I hope the suede gets some good character to it.
The shirts are truly ridiculous for the price at which they were being sold. Not a thread out of place, and crows-feet stitching on those gorgeous buttons. I almost never wear true dress shirts so few points of comparison on the fabric, but the cut is standout. Flattering without being excessively slim. I wish I'd bought five.
I had to get 2 of the field jackets because they're just that good. I really appreciate the shorter length which is up to today's trend. Wished I had gotten more in other colors but sizes have ran out. I hemmed all my jacket sleeves inc the suedes.
Aye, I almost regret that I didn't get two - but I suspect Cavour will improve on them in the future, so we're hardly out of opportunities.
Personally, I mostly prefer to keep the sleeves long and roll up the cuff to expose a the buttons. I think a bit of exposed hardware looks great as contrast against the suede (wouldn't a safari jacket in the same style be amazing?) and the stacking on the arms shows off the character of the material. I wonder if the length is a Norwegian thing? When I lived somewhere with awful winters I preferred long, slim sleeves on coats to keep out the wind.
