Best MTM shirts for collars that stand upright?

Hi, I'm looking for the best MTM shirts that offer collars with appropriate shape / stiffness that allows it to stand upright when worn open-collar with a suit / blazer. I've tried a handful of online MTM shirtmakers with some success on overall fit, but universally very little success on the collar issue. I've studied my shirts that fair better than others and have concluded the crux of the issue is (perhaps obviously) the pattern of collar and the stiffness. Metal or plastic collar stays don't make a huge difference.

Am I the only one who kind of obsesses over this? Please offer recommendations for shirtmakers and collar styles.

Really appreciate your help in advance.

The only sure way to get that effect is to wear a button down (or hidden button down) collar.

Another way would be to specify a point collar with a higher neck band especially in front.
Flexible/bendable collar stays could also help.

A button down collar is the only one that should be worn open neck under a jacket, anyway. Just get some OCBD's and stop worrying about it.

Actually there is a solution. They are called magnetic collar stays. We have many clients that don't care for button down collars, but don't want their collars to collapse, especially under the lapels of their jackets. You put the metal collar stay in as usual, but the set comes with a NASA powered small magnet that you put on the inside of the shirt, and you can even move the magnet around to play with the collar height. Give it a try. Check out www.tomjames.com.

You're not alone Ram....been trying to sort this one out, too. Sounds like buying better shirts is a huge first step. Also, straight/pinpoint collars have a much better chance that spread collars.
