Hi Saw these at the Ralph Lauren website. At first I couldnt understand what were the 2 white round things below the collar but after zooming in, realized that it was a button down shirt. Does anyone actually wear their BDs this way ?

I've never seen anyone do that before and I am not a fan of the look but that's just my opinion.

I'm thinking large, gold sailboats. Opinion?

It looks rank, just like whoever it is on WAYWN who persists on wearing BD collar shirts without doing the buttons. Whats the point. It looked shite when Agnelli did it and it continues to look shite now.

Astaire used to pin BDs but he did it with them buttoned.

I admit, I saw it on the RL site....and busted out my collar pin. I tried it, I did not like it. It felt to affected...even for me.

I love, LOVE Polo OCBD shirts. I hate, HATE the look of one with a tie. To me, a button down with a tie is like nails on a chalkboard. I see it every day as roughly 95% of people down here that wear a tie, wear a button down with it. I am always looking for a way to wear those shirts in a new way. Sometimes I do the unbuttoned method, but people keep asking me why my collar is not buttoned. LOL. This did not work for me.

Agreed with you in a formal environment. Not so much if you're wearing an OCBD with a casual tie and outfit.

That is a collar pin, which is really just a big safety pin.
