Welcome to the official Styleforum thread for Falcon Garments.

We’re here to offer a selection of handmade, made to order men’s outerwear. For now it will just be leather jackets and the varsity jacket. However, as time goes on and the weather grows colder, coats may be entering the mix. Also, look out for bags and other items in the future as we evolve.

Before anyone asks, the production facilities are the same as, the now defunct, TOJ. Although you can expect a higher level of quality control and attention to detail. We will also try to improve in any areas we can going forward.
Anyways, I’m sure everyone has a lot of questions. Before asking, please read the FAQ below to see if we addressed any of your questions or concerns already.

Please visit www.falcongarmentsco.com. It has all the info below and more, including details and photos.

Our email address is [email protected]. Please email us with any questions and inquires. Please please please refrain from PM’s.

Btw, please follow @falcongarments on Instagram for updates and tidbits.

Daniel and I are very glad and excited to be here :)

Please let me know if there are any typos or things you would like me to clarify.

    Thanks!

    FAQ’s

    Who are you guys?

Falcon Garments is comprised of Charly and Daniel. Charly will be your main point of contact for all Falcon Garments inquiries. Daniel is the production manager making sure all your jackets are made in a timely fashion with the care.

    Aren’t you guys TOJ?

Short answer is no. Long answer can be found in the TOJ thread. A condensed version of that long answer is as follows. We were once employees of TOJ. However, due to the mismanagement of TOJ and revelation of said mismanagement, we both stated our position to Drew and both of us left TOJ. We have absolutely zero affiliation with TOJ or Drew, nor will we in the future.

    Where is Drew?

We have no idea. Neither of us have been involved with Drew since we left.

Are you providing any sort of discounts for people that haven't received their orders from Drew?

If you can provide proof you are waiting on a TOJ order, we are offering a 15% discount on your first order as long as you place your order or get placed on the wait list by 10/1/15.

What makes you different from TOJ?

A few, but very important, things:

    1. To avoid any sort of internal misappropriation of funds, Daniel and I will both have access to all of our finances (honestly, this is how it should have been from the beginning).
    2. We will cap lead time around 3-4 weeks (max). Right now, each group of artisans that produce jackets for us can churn out about 1 jacket per day. We have 2-3 groups of artisans at the moment. So in a given week, 10-15 jackets is our max capacity. Once we reach a level orders that max out the 3-4 week time frame, we will stop taking orders and instead, put the customer on a waitlist (will discuss this in the next question). This will prevent us from amassing a ton of orders that increase lead times. More importantly, it will prevent having everyone’s money in limbo for more than the set period. We hope this gives some peace of mind as we move forward.
    3. Improved production management and quality inspections. Because of the excessive uptake of orders that was allowed in TOJ, production management and quality inspections were spread thin. With the new system in place, Daniel will have much more time to look over all jacket before shipment to ensure it meets our standards.

    How do I order?

    1. Start by emailing us at [email protected] with what you are interested in purchasing.
      • If you know what size you would like to order, then list that along with the jacket, hide, color, and jacket options you would like to go with. (Note: stock sizes will fit most people).
      • If you require MTM, please follow the measurement guide listed below and include those measurements in the email. Also, include your height and weight. Please list all measurements in standard (inches and feet).
    2. Once you know what you want to order and have settled on a size, you can complete your order by sending payment to the PayPal address that we provide you with. Payment in full is required.
    3. After you send your payment, send an email with all your order details (jacket, hide, color, all options you want on or off, measurements/sizing).
    4. Once your jacket is completed, we will ship your jacket via EMS and send you a tracking number. Lead time from payment to shipment will be 3-4 weeks max. Although, I think it should be closer to 2-3 weeks.

This waitlist thing… how does it work?

    1. Orders will be taken as normal, up until we reach order levels that put us at 3-4 weeks (max) lead time.
    2. If this order level is reached and you want to place an order, we will place your name on the waitlist. Waitlist if for those who know their exact order (jacket, hide, color, sizing, details).
    3. Once you are called upon when you name comes to the top of the list, you will receive an email and you will have 24 hours to respond with payment. If there is no response, you will be removed from the list.
    4. If you missed your 24 hour window and would still like to order, you can contact me again and I will place you on the waitlist.

Why have the prices gone up compared to the prices that were used for TOJ jackets?

    Good question. Many reason.

    1. Inflation. Those prices were used about 3 years ago (maybe more). Cumulative rate of inflation in the past 3 years or so has been roughly 4%.
    2. The prices of materials and labor has gone up in the past few years.
    3. Shipping prices have gone up. Almost double what they used to be. What used to cost us about $40-45 USD to ship EMS, now costs us about $70 USD to ship EMS. Yes, we could use a slower shipping method than EMS. But to get your jacket to you quickly and safely, there’s nothing better.
    4. If you did the rough math, you can see that the price reflects all the factors (we may even be coming up a bit short).

    What is your return/exchange policy?

We do not accept returns. We will accept exchanges under the following conditions:

    1. If your stock sized garment has any substantial measurement deviations from the stock size chart or if you were sent the wrong size.
      • We will exchange the garment for the same jacket (same hide, color, and details) in the proper size.
      • We will refund cost of shipping to us of course.
    2. If your MTM garment has any substantial measurement deviations from what you ordered.
      • We will exchange the garment for the same jacket (same hide, color, and details) with the proper measurements.
      • We will refund cost of shipping to us of course.
    3. We will not accept exchanges just because the jacket doesn’t suit you or anything along those lines. If we did accept exchanges due reasons along these lines, we would have to raise prices to reflect this. But I’m sure most of you understand how we operate by now and I don't really have to explain any of this to you :)

    Stock Size Chart

Yes, we're offering half sizes :slayer:

(Chest, mid, waist, sleeve widths are all half the measurements. Double for full circumference.)

Measurements sometimes have small variances that should not affect jacket fit.

    Measurement Guide for MTM

Best way is to just measure a well fitting jacket (similar in style) and send me those measurements with a picture of you wearing the jacket.

Or you can do the following.

Measure with a t-shirt on unless otherwise specified.

    1. Height – without shoes
    2. Weight
    3. Shoulders – from the bony point of your shoulder at the top to the other end. Best done with a jacket or shirt that fits well in the shoulders and you can just measure seam to seam at the top of the shoulders.
    4. Chest – circumference at thickest point, relaxed with arms by your side
    5. Midsection – circumference of waist at belly button level
    6. Waist/Hips – circumference where your front length measurement ends
    7. Front length – best measured with a jacket on. From the base of the collar down the middle of the jacket to the end of the jacket or wherever you would like the jacket to end. This is basically the zipper length.
    8. Sleeve length – From the bony point in the shoulder to about 1-2” below your wrist (personal preference). Best done with a jacket or shirt that fits well in the shoulders and you can measure from the top of the shoulder seam down to where you would like the jacket sleeve to end on you.
    9. Biceps – unflexed, arms down.

Once I give you my opinion on sizing, it is up to you to compare the measurements to garments you already own (similar garments are best), and then confirm the measurements you would like to go with.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________

I hope everyone forgives the quality of the photos and if the jacket is laid out floppy. They were just quickly taken. Will have better quality photos in the coming weeks.

very cool to see this getting up and going. might be a worthwhile investment to have someone able with photoshop to make some initial mockups.

The A2/A1/CWU45/MA-1 are unchanged from the TOJ designs.

The riders and motos are very similar aside from the front facing sleeve zipper and other optional details.

We will have photos of a jacket for you tomorrow. Daniel is picking it up tomorrow and will snap pictures and I'll throw them up :slayer:

I really hate to be this guy, but any future plans for an unfilled (aka not down/poly filled) fabric MA-1? That's next on my list of jackets to buy and nothing currently available fits the bill

Why go for fabric when you can go lambskin? heh

No real plans for an unfilled fabric MA-1. They turn out very flat/cheap looking most of the time if you don't have any fill in the lining. Who knows though!

Good luck guys! Looking forward to pics of all the new leathers.

    A few questions:

    1) Is 2-way zipper still an option for DR's? I'd love that.
    2) The goat you have, is it the same "glazed" goat that was used before?
    3) When you say MTM is an option for V1 varsity, do you mean full MTM or only sleeve/body lengths?

Nice to see this moving forward, good luck!

    Few questions:

    1. Are there any pictures of the various styles or are they pretty much the same patterns as TOJ?
    2. Will there be a style similar to the BCDR?
    3. I know this was thrown around a bit in the TOJ thread but are there any discounts for people still waiting on TOJ orders if they can provide proof?

    1. 2-way zipper is available in black. 1-way zippers for silver.
    2. It's the unglazed version. It's got a slight sheen to it but mostly matte. Very similar to the lambskin we carry.
    3. Full MTM ;)

    1. They are pretty much the same patterns and designs as TOJ's. Though, we will roll out with some photos little by little. But again, they'll be pretty much look the same. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
    2. The CM1 is the collared moto.
    3. Yes, I forgot to mention and will update the main post. If you can provide proof you are waiting on a TOJ order, we are offering a 15% discount on your first order as long as you place your order or get placed on the wait list by 10/1/15.

I'd like to get in on the first page of this would-be epic thread, so I can look back with fond nostalgia years from now when people are questioning Charly's whereabouts and noting the influx of photos of fancy cars and high-end meals on his personal Instagram account.

    In on first page.

Also, if we wanted to combine stock sizes (a 48 jacket w/ 46 length, say) does that count as stock or MTM?
