Expert level post with shoebox background. An awesome malt too. One of the top rum finished. I like when rum adds to the malt and does not just cover it all up. At that point I may as well just drink a rum. I find Irish pairs up well with rum finish also.

Actually, shoe boxes could not be avoided - was at my local shoe shop for a Whisky or 3 in honour of their first John Lobb trunk show.

Cleared the shelf of Balvenie 15yo Sherry cask, amazing whisky, could not believe my luck while out painting the town red - happy camper.

Oh -Dark Cove is a joy as well.

Seriously, kalamansi juice/purée is effin' great. I've bought this stuff:

and a small dash is enough. It's a mix of tangerines and kumquats and super potent. Loving it.

I just opened a bottle of the Balvenie 15 sherry. Good whisky, but a little overpriced imo. Around here, they want over $100 a bottle.

It’s $160 AUD, my end. I think it a monster sherry balvenie (actually eclipses other Balvenies by a suitable margin), worth every dollar.

The Fortaleza is a real treat. The Ocho may well be my favorite añejo, but the extra is too sweet for me. A tequila too be treated like a dessert, for sure.
