Yea, it's crazy how much I've seen India pop up recently in collections. There's 18 East, 100 Hands, this Stoffa collaboration, and then Corridor recently introduced a new line of naturally dyed garments made in New Delhi (which they advertise as part of the selling point). Their line is called Sunshine Blues.

I think there are one or two more that I may be missing. But I feel like I've seen India-themed and -made collections come up a lot recently.

I think india always had great textiles, but for some reason the patterns never caught on in the west. it also does not help that most of india dresses rather gaudily in their colours and patterns ( not in a bad way ) but this is the antithesis of how cloth is expected to look in the west. I guess that is why they never had the market. Also I am to assume that their domestic market is huge. Have you seen the amount of cloth that a sari consumes.

The colours are so drab this season.

One item I like is this:
raw-188_c_1.jpg

But I find Drake’s knitwear is cut for people built like barrels, and the armholes are huge, but the neck opening is weirdly tiny. Just me?

I just got that in today. Luckily I like tighter neckhole and I’m built like a barrel :)

I can’t fit their shetlands well either.

Been staring at this scarf since release, but really wondering if it’s worth it since these kind of transitional pieces tend to get very little use in this godforsaken tundra. Looks amazing though, and nice to see everyone else seems to like theirs.

Why does the Drake website suck so ridiculously bad. The most glitchy menswear website I go to. I can never get the look books to open. I click the "view now" and it takes me to the clothing link. Anyone else have these experiences on Drake's website? Plus, on top of the glitchy'ness, it's a poorly designed and over crowded website design.

The knitwear is made by William Lockie and they have the same weird fit. Doesn't work for me either.

"The scarf feels very bohemian, like something that would be sold in one of those womenswear boutiques with Native American jewelry, super expensive niche lines, and a cow skull hanging on the wall. And, like, the woman working behind the counter has a dress and cool vintage boots. It's actually somewhat easy to find Indian block-print scarves like these for super cheap, but hard to find ones that don't feel feminine".

I had a similar experience with an online vendor, ordered a navy "antique village" print scarf, and ended up getting the Rust version of the same print, because of out of stock.

I would never have ordered that color, as I would conceive of it as too feminine for me, but when I got it, it worked and I really liked it.

I like Drake's across the board, but their best print scarves are genius to my eye. And they do have this knack of combining patterns and color ways that would seem a bit feminine, but come off, to my eye, as a slightly subversive take on traditional British masculine.

Has anyone tried any of the new(ish) cord shirts.. been thinking about the khaki one for the last few days..

Also the Stoffa scarves look great but I just don’t think they’d suit me, I would really like one of Stoffas own scarves but I just haven’t built up to spending £300 on a scarf just yet.
