Tbh don’t see any in my neighborhood. You have smarter versions though, often in cord, more the kind the painters (not house painter) wore. I have a couple.Think a lot of French men of various ages wear a work jacket kind of jacket and it looks great, whether with jeans or dress pants. Not necessarily that classic blue (maybe black or olive), though some do.
Material, detailing, cut ?…When you say "smarter versions", what makes the style different?
Wouldn’t wear that kind of jacket in a fancy dinner. The Hollingtons you showed look great but seem skewed to Nehru collars this season.
Would it be right that Mont St Michel looks really classic to the point of looking very much like something you would put on doing chores, while others are "smarter" and visibly more dressy? Like you could take the "smarter" ones more readily to a fancy dinner in lieu of a sport coat?
Things are not like they used to be. So yes you can wear what you want.Closseau, I mean a fancier dinner that is not black tie, glass chandeliers and marble floors. I've seen guys just wear sweaters and turtlenecks, or just long sleeved buttondowns, to fancy restaurants so wonder what types of French work jackets would fit in that venue (probably all of them, given post-covid norms).
Lol, I kind of agree but some streetwear is okay. I can wear the LMSM chore jacket without looking like a counter revolution crypto bro trader or teenager. The worst American fashion export is streetwear. It's lazy and most of the aesthetic I see do not compliment the male or female figure. It's hard to see streetwear as anything other than a trend that people outgrow. the only thing streetwear gets right is some of the textures can be pleasant.
I tend to judge a fashion style by whether or not it can be timeless. Obviously it's impossible to know now, but I wouldn't hold my breath that streetwear has staying power outside of city dwelling teenagers and tech scene ppl who are revolted by a button up.
end rant lol
How does it compare to Mont St Michel given it's 1/3 the price, and why is its distribution so odd (it's not available in the major cities)?Another typical french workwear maker is Le Laboureur
