I just won these "Vintage Custom Made Boots", which was the title of the auction on ebay. Seller said he would offer a refund including shipping if they don't fit or I don't like them for any reason. I don't have any black boots (my brogues are up on ebay, they sucked) so I think I will get a lot of use out of them... I hope they fit.
This seller also has a crazy black leather moto jacket for sale he paid nearly $10k for at a charity auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261192302388?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Looks like something a Victorian chimney sweep would wear.

Did your grandmother knit that?

@Caveat, yeah it was an auction so I didn't want to say anything about them.

@dotcomzz, there never was an $800 budget for boots, I wish.

I take a 45 in sneakers and a 44 in most welted boots/shoes. I really hope they fit. I'm happy it turned out this way, but I don't have them in hand yet...

Saw them for sale somewhere on the net for $1400 new and used for $800. This seller did have 2 pair though and someone else got a pair for $99!. I kinda wonder if the seller is rich and just having fun posting them as an anonymous handmade custom boot? I guess that way some random guy (like me) who liked them but has no idea what he's getting would buy them.

Start crying. :bounce2:

Boots are a 44 but usually boots/welted shoes run a touch big, all of mine are a 44. There is a small chance these boots will be too small for me, but probably not. I hope not.

A-ha! No tears here. I'm a 45 in boots and 46+ in sneakers. Crisis averted, life goes on.

Carpes have a notoriously low instep. A 44 might even be a tad bit small
