Had a Tilley cotton hat that was in a weird self-described "gold" colour that was hard to wear with anything. So I experimented with waxing it with the hardcore Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP that I had only ever used before on winter boots because it's so waxy compared to regular Obenauf's. Just used my fingers and a blowdryer and wiped off the excess with a rag. Coverage isn't 100% but it's pretty good. Overall, success.

Not bad, but now definitely not for summer.

Check out the "Athleisure going out of style" topic in CM, it's amazing, Little Lord Fauntleroy LARP in full swing.

The very first post of the thread got me:

With the critical phase of the pandemic past us, and people getting back to being social again, it appears that looking good is now appreciated again...

good to see that athleisure wear is going the same way as Jams, Skidz, and early 1990’s Starter jackets!

I had more than a few pair of Skidz when I was in 8th and 9th grade and often try to describe them to my kids. My oldest usually says something to the effect of, "Do you mean pajamas?" 😅

I've also been scouring eBay for a couple years now for one of those old Starter jackets. I really want a Red Wings (but I'd settle for one from a defunct team like the Houston Oilers or Hartford Whalers).

I saw a woman the other day, likely in her 60's, wearing black yoga pants, a camo print Lululemon top and suicoke strap sandals and she looked fantastic. It helped that she was clearly insulated with compounding interest probably going back to locomotive times, but still.

That thread was was a painfully entertaining, slightly eye opening read.
That has been a rinse and repeat opinion for about a as long as the forum has existed, and probably long, long before that.

I gotta go back to that thread. Skimmed a recent page and all I saw was some Jesse Pinkman pictures and a lot of text I didn't read.

That type of thread is oddly reassuring. You already know all of the arguments and opinions. It's the menswear version of a Rom-Com, or a Fast and Furious movie, depending on your mood and disposition.
