Bonamassa is one of those guys who effortlessly goes between using fingers and a pick. Brian Setzer is another guy who can do that. Most of all they get great tone either way.

So you would not be happy if you could play like Joe? ;)

As long as I don't have to look or sing like him :nodding:

(though he's got some amazing guitars)

I bought an old Digitech delay on ebay that doesn't work properly and needs to be returned, but holy cow is it cool - an infinite repeat switch is such an awesome thing to have!

You don't like his singing? To my ear he has great pitch. I hate those singers that have to slide into their notes like Bono.

It's rock music, they're not singing arias. Bonamassa's voice is, wheezy, grating and put-on, IMO.

I don't particularly like his tone, either, but I love his gear and playing!!!

Man I find myself wanting to get a new guitar more and more these days. I used to have almost a dozen guitars at one point but I massively downsized my collection and I barely play any more. I am currently oogling this a few times a day:

PRS are beautiful, generally. That looks like a good one. Some sort of McCarty?

I'm noticing much hate on the Netwebs for Marshall's new DSL line and it seems to mainly focus around the fact they're now made in Asia vs. the UK.

lots of rock and roll history coming from that UK factory.

granted, the Asian made versions are probably better made :satisfied:

The claims are that they are inferior in design and build. You'd think the whole Fender MIJ thing might give people pause.

i couldn't comment on that just yet as I haven't played one of the AZN DSL's, but my DSL40 (last of the UK DSL's) is built like a ******* tank. It's in great shape even though the previous owner gigged it a ton over the past 12+ years.

The Fender MIJ era stuff was a different beast all together vs. most other "made in China" products, and that's mostly a reflection of where Fender was at the time.
