She still believes in the perfect knight who will protect the weak and innocent. She sees Ser Loras as that perfect knight. He can physically protect her, but also meets her other needs. He's not threatening physically because he's more effeminate than Sandor Clegane, who could better protect her and offered to take her away- granted he was covered in blood and stunk of wine at the time. Sandor even protects Ser Loras from Gregor.
Oh, how I wish for Garlan Tyrell and the cripple Willas. How could a Paramount family have only one child? Just makes so little sense.
Arryns are different. Lord Arryn had several prior wives and little success. Lysa had the situation with tansy tea and by that time Lord Jon was very aged.
Plus the Reach is very wealthy with resources. Mace Tyrell was married at a reasonable age. One son...
King Stannis has only one daughter, but Selyse has been pregnant many times. He does his duty to make an heir with his wife.
The Starks have lots of kids.
The Lannisters three children and the third killed Tywin's wife in childbed and he never took another wife.
Four children for the Greyjoys who live with no farmland.
The Martells are not yet introduced. How many of Prince Doran's kids will be eliminated from the story in Dorne?
Of course, but (1) she doesn't know that, and (2) Sansa wants to get away from Joffrey more than she wants to be with Loras.
