Why was the Appreciation there? If they wanted to record some Appreciation, why not just use Rob and Talissa?

So if this is GRRM's story, does that mean that Jeyne Westerling is also pregnant? And if so, why is she still alive? Because the Lannisters have her under their control and are going to hold onto the Stark heir as a wild card in case one of the missing Starks shows up? Or is Robb's heir a major new wrinkle that the show is introducing? The mind fairly reels.
I usually follow the plot lines pretty good but I dont know who the guy torturing theon is . Am I not supposed to know yet?
