Man, USA still isn't world class, pretty funny. If England loses they should just quit.

As much as I'd like to blame the ball, that was just poor handling by Green. That was something you'd expect from Barthez.

ETA: Donavon is USA's Ribery. Seems like the only one who's able to create chances and rattle the English defense.

While our goalie takes a foot to the ribs, England's just let's one roll in to the net. THAT'S pretty funny.

Indeed, England's goalie probably would rather hang out in the USA locker room during halftime, than deal with the crap he's about to get in England's.

Great first half of uS midfielders, especially Donovan and Dempsey!

Maybe I'm just taking this from a historical perspective, but I've been relatively pleased with the US offense. They're trying. They are attacking. Shots are going on goal--not everyone of them great, but they're trying. Donovan put in a great short cross that was threatening. Even Dempsey's eventual goal was a good attempt. Hell, we're able to keep the ball away from England for more than two passes at a time. I remember plenty of other games when our offense was simply non-existent and it was rare to see more than a single attempt on goal. More than two passes in a row? Never.

The defense? Ugh. The same. No communication. I just don't know the solution to this. I don't think we necessarily have better choices. Eddie Pope was always a great leader in the back. Have these guys just not learned to yell at one another? (Yeah, I know it's loud, but...)

The three players you've mentioned so far ( Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley ) are most likely the best players you have. Your team would be nothing without them. You aren't really into soccer, are you ?

It is. Even without Ferdinand. Especially Terry and Cole rank among the best defenders in whole Europe. To be fair, they weren't seriously challenged - except a very few exceptions - so far though... I'm dissapointed in the Limeys. They play absolutely conceptless. Long ball to Heskey, Heskey sets up for Rooney, Rooney goes for the one on one, turnover - always the same old. Capello needs to bring Joe Cole for more creativity in the 2nd half...

Ironic that the Limeys always break our balls about playing football with our hands (har har har) and if only the English did a better job with their hands they'd still be in the lead. Hope it lasts.

That goal on Green was the greatest gift the English have given us since good manners.

Guess that's not going to happen either. I'm pretty pleased with the US teams play. It seems to me that they are controlling the possession, but the defense is conceding the better chances to England. If the defense would tighten up a bit and the offense keeps doing what they are doing, we can win this game.
