For me SuitSupply seems on par with Brooks 1818 series. I own a couple 1818 suits; one US made and one Italian. The Italian one I wore so much over the summer the trousers ended up with a hole.
The US made one did not fit as well and the fabric just does not seem to stay un wrinkled even with steaming.
My Golden Fleece Brooks do best SuitSupply but for an everyday suit or something to wear on travel I think SuitSupply is fine.

This is why I swear by my guanashina suits from Brioni.

You would think that a suit called the "Traveller" is one of their most durable?
I gave my Havana Traveller to goodwill. It felt like cardboard, it hung like toilet paper on me, and it felt like it was going to rip at the seams. I ordered it online after an otherwise reliable sales associate said, "Everybody who works here bought the Traveller; it's great!" It wasn't great, but all my other favourite jackets and suits are from SuSu and I still shop there.

I try to recommend my clients away from these mills... sure their higher quality lines are good in terms of quality of the yarn and aesthetic, but the Italian fabrics nowadays are just too lightweight which seriously detracts from the quality of drape and the longevity of the suit, which in my opinion is fundamental. Mills are making 7oz for the summer and 8.5oz for the winter. Its a shame.

I buy almost exclusively from the English mills... a nice 9oz open weave mohair is just as cool as a compact 7oz, lasts much longer, drapes much better, and ultimately looks better and feels better.

out of curiosity - if someone were to order a bespoke workhorse suit from you in a standard navy plainweave or twill, or maybe a mid-grey sharksin...what fabric/mill/merchant would you point them to in the 9-11 ounce range?
