Hi folks - I’m a 50 year old and I’m interested in how good quality clothes are made - I sew and I'm slowly learning tailoring and pattern making-related tricks… so as a long term lurker I’ve enjoyed the insight into craftsmanship that crops up on here.

Thanks to you all for that - just thought I should actually join up.

Hi there, my friend age has nothing to do with inquisitiveness & the desire to expand one’s horizons. Glad that you’re finally out of the cold & no longer lurking about.
Welcome to the forum!

This is a thread in which you introduce yourself, regulars and new members alike. This is one thread I'd like to keep reasonably civil and reasonably clean, so, let's do that, okay?

I'll start. I'm Fok, one of the adminstrators on the forum. I have a bunch of kids and live in Idaho. If anyone told me any of the above 6 years ago, I would have wanted whatever they were smoking.

I wear jeans 24/7 - mostly Triple Works and RRL, and otherwise, have a lot of belts and overpriced Italian made sneakers. I mix up Wings+Horns, RRL, Jil Sander, Margiela, Haversack, Woolrich Woolen Mills, and SNS Herning,

Hope that you guys have a good time on the forum.

Cheers,

Fok.
Hi Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to exploring! I am in my 60s but I am known as a stylish guy and I believe I should wear what I like not what I'm expected to wear in my "advanced years". I wear jeans most of the time. I currently have 8 pairs I wear a lot, and the majority of them are Hugo Boss label. I also own a number of Italian shirts, and very often wear a knotted silk bandana, again mostly Italian, but i have never taken to the Ascot look.

Hi folks!
I'm a 34-year-old passionate about the making of quality clothes that last! I got into menswear when looking for my wedding suit a few years ago and got fascinated by all that goes into making a nice suit and quality clothes in general.

Side note, I've been building a search engine and data analytics project for quality clothes on the side for some time, mainly for myself so far, but hopefully for others as well sometime in the future (looking for feedback about frustrations regarding clothing search here: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...-quality-clothes-online.750655/#post-11747339)
A lurker for a few months, I enjoyed the amount of knowledge shared a lot! Thank you all for that!

Hi everyone!
I´m Anastasios (24y/o male) from Germany but I´m actually Greek :))
I originally got into classic menswear after appreciating the clothing of Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. After that I was amazed by the craft behind suits, sport coats and the "science" behind classic menswear over all.
I notoriously collect important pieces that he wore throughout Breaking Bad and Better Call to actually wear them and the hunt is really going well.
I wanna share my small but magnificant collection with you and get some help with aquiring new pieces - I hope I´m at the right place for that :))

Greetings,
Anastasios

Hey everyone my name is Perry.

I'm the owner of a small boutique in Vancouver Canada. We're fairly new going into our second year. I've personally been into raw denim since Nudie first arrived on the scene with some of those being my first pairs of Raw Denims. But it wasn't until my first pair of Momotaros did I truly fall in love with the whole raw denim experience and the moulding to the body.

For some odd reason, I was crazy enough to open a boutique store in what I thought was the end of the Pandemic and it's been a crazy ride since. We're super happy with the brands that we have in store, and that we're able to go in the direction that we had wanted to go. But with current events around the world has made things a bit more challenging.
But I'm happy to be able to go more in depth with brands that we have in store such as Momotaro, Studio D'Artisan, Flat Head, Full Count, Tanuki, Fortela and several others. It's really hard to have one favourite brand. As well, I wish I had more days in the week to try and break in more jeans at once. So I'll often be sporting the Canadian Tuxedo to try and break in as much as I can at once.

Please bear with us, as we try to learn and how to navigate through this community.

Thank You

Hi all, am a guy in his 40s who was always kind of interested in tailored clothing. Thanks to the X fka Twitter algorithm, I became an avid reader of dieworkwear, which is how I heard about this forum. Looking forward to learning more about collar gap, shoulder divot, and other arcane and not-so-arcane topics.

Hello Precarious, when it comes to details such as those that you’ve mentioned, none are arcane. It’s alll a matter of perspective. Welcome to the forum!

Hi everyone, just getting started on here but have been lurking around for a while. Love the workwear sections, footwear, and classifieds but want to lean into classic menswear more!
