Been picking up a lot of old Brooks Brothers ties on ebay lately and was happy to find one in a plum color. Dark green herringbone jacket is a bit longer, has a slightly lower buttoning point, and more structure to the shoulders than I'm generally used to - and the sleeves probably need to come up a scosh more - but I like it.

Square is just cream silk till something better comes along for this jacket. Two squares on the way from ET!

Ok, so not exactly "Clagsing" - wrong chair, wrong pose, too much face...

What sort of shirt is that, a spreadish button down collar shirt? I've been looking for something similar but cannot seem to find it.

cheers David. You know it's funny- a few days ago in the Whnay threak we discussed the apparently common manufacture of silk knits sold under different labels. I followed your link (thanks!) and one of the Lands End silk knit user reviews mentions the problem of the 'Made in Italy' label interfering with hte knot. I have the same issue with my T M Lewin silk knits.

I have no reason to believe it's anything other than a normal oxford button down. The shirt is made-to-measure from a local tailor so I'm assuming it's their standard cut, but I can't really see a big difference between this and other ocbd's I've seen.

I do, however, sometimes tie the tie, make some space, unbutton the top button, then cinch the tie back up so it's not quite as pinched at the top... so maybe that's what you're seeing. Or maybe slightly bigger collar points creating a bit more space.

Oh and welcome to the forum :)

@SpooPoker has that on lockdown.

That's unfair. @SpooPoker ties more FIH's in a year than most conservative business dress wearing folk will in a lifetime...

What collar do you get from Eton?  Shirts are great for travel, but never loved any of the collars.

I have their standard spread and their cutaway collars. They are usually whats available OTR. I do enjoy the shirts

April the 7th, and it is still nippy enough, outside, to have a Tweedy Tuesday.
