Hi Kevin,

Can you clarify whether only the sport coats and suits were moved to the Asian production facility or whether all Cavour branded clothing (I.e. knitwear, outerwear, etc.) has been moved over?

Thanks

Don’t fuss too much over the made in China change. I have one of the recent Spring Summer sport coats and the quality is still impeccable. That said, the cut seems a tad slimmer in the waist and the quarters, a tad more open. Not a bad thing… more flattering actually - I like it a lot.

Also, like Kevin said, the work definitely appears more consistent, so a hundred percent on the QC.

I’m waiting on another sport coat and will let you know what I find.

This would be helpful. Made in Europe equals no duties in Canada while made in China means an extra 30% in duty fees which means it’s not worth it.

Would also be helpful to know the provenance as it influences whether I will buy a particular item. I know it doesn’t matter to all but matters to some.

30%???

Yikes!

That’s insane!

For us Aussies, as long as it’s under $1K, it’s all good.

Just in case anyone is interested…

Made in China:

Made in Italy:

Both jackets taken out by 3cm at the waist by the same tailor. There are some differences but they’re extremely subtle and don’t detract from the gorgeous aesthetics.

To be honest, the chinese one looks like it wants to spread out on your hips and separate, for some reason.

I noticed that. Feels like the waist is tighter and there’s less room in the skirt. I’m receiving another jacket next week. Let’s see if the effect is the same. Personally, I don’t really mind it, but again, let’s see.

Looking at the new coats that just came out this past week. Do you guys think it’s heavy enough for winter wear? They range from 450 to 480 g, not even 17 oz. I’m seeing other brands going 25 or even 30 oz.

Maybe there’s more than just weight when it comes to warmth, who knows..

450 to 480 gr is fine only for winters in Italy and other southern countries. I was expecting a much heavier coats from a Norwegian brand
