Got around to trying some pieces in store.

The white OCBD is quite nice. A tad thin, but with a lovely collar. Nicely informal formal.

The covert wool-trousers are very nice, though a lot shinier than on the photos at the website.

Tie your tie-ties are lovely.

Tried on a suit as well. The jacket fitted nicely, but the 48 pants were absurdly tight. Couldn't even get them on me. Even the 50 were tight around the leg. Had to go up to 52, but then the seat got way too large. You can add 6cm to the leg, but that adds cost. So why not just have it fall straight, then make customers who want it slimmer pay for it? Why go slim to full, and not full to slim?

You seem like the anomaly for their suits to fit - 48 jacket and 52 pants is not normal so I’m not sure they would change their suit cut to accommodate. You can always get custom so theres plenty of retailers ready to take your money 😁

I actually agree that their pants are very tight for anyone with an athletic build (ie anyone who is lifting or doing resistance training). Their 50 jacket fits me like a dream while their 50 pants need major surgery to fit my thighs and seat. Wish we could trouser swap - 50/52 would be perfect.

Speaking of: I am thinking about getting a Cavour suit but unsure about trouser fit. Can anyone who has tried a brand like Natalino or Berg & Berg advise on Cavour sizing? Thanks!

I have all three. Cavour is more tapered than both, in fact too much imo. Berg & Berg has a 20cm hem for one of their cuts which I really like, Natalino is still a bit more tapered than I,'d like with something like 19cm but the thigh is so large I had to size down.
Waist-wise I was a 48 in both Cavour and BB, though the latter is high rise and Cavour mid rise so ofc actual measurements differ. Couldn't say about Natalino there, my 48 was too large there too although larger than size chart, while the size down I had to let out 2 cm.

Yep, the 52 jacket works perfectly for me but pants are a bit lower rise and slimmer fitting than I'd like, otherwise I would buy more suits. Still planning to get a few more next year.

Apologies for the picture quality, but here is an update on the Sportcoat in Green Glencheck (Marling and Evans fabric) on my way out to dinner earlier this evening. Finally got around to having the sleeves shortened - no other alterations.

I must say, I am very pleased with this jacket. At first, I wasn’t sure about such a soft shoulder, but it’s extremely comfortable and gives the jacket an immediately “lived-in” quality.

As a point of reference, I am 5’9” 160lbs with a 39” chest. The jacket is a size 48. Trousers are Berg and Berg (Arnold cut), also size 48.

Been waiting for just over 2 weeks for a blazer ordered on the Cavour website (not shipped yet) — which is now on 50 % sale. Oh well. Hopefully I will be credited/the order may be canceled so that I can order again to the current price.

(To be clear, the delay seem to be the result of DHL, not Cavour, screwing up. Deliveries from Cavour have previously been super fast.)

Has anyone tried letting out some fabric to get a bit of room in the chest on Cavour jackets? Size 50 works very well in shoulders and waist but is a bit too slim in the chest. Size 52 is great in the chest but a bit too large in the waist and maybe a bit long for me given I'm 178cm (5'10).

Im thinking of buying a 50 and get it to a tailor but I'm unsure how difficult/easy it is for a tailor to let it out a few cm without ******* something up.
It's one of the best cuts I tried but I just wish it was a bit fuller in the chest to accommodate us guys who lift, though a perfect fit might not be possible for us in RTW, even in good RTW as Cavours.

Yes, side seams have some allowance but it’s probably going to depend on the fabric. There’s also the question of variation between same sizes, perhaps another 50 would fit fuller? In my case a 50 in cashmere mix fit perfectly but a 50 in gunclub tweed I had let out a little as it was tight in the chest.
