Thinking of going custom for jodhpur boots, the model with the wide strap in black vegano/calf. Looking for opinions from Robert last owners, cuold it fit the jodhpur stylewise? I'm after something slightly more rugged than Rain/Simpson/Inca etc. Forest cuold be another choice. I have a pretty high instep. Thanks in advance!
It could definitely fit the style, but I don't find the last to have a high instep.

Certain international sellers now collect a Nexus tax on behalf of the majority of US states. This new tax took effect in July 2021.
I am currently in Florida and Carmina now collects this VAT on their behalf, NJ seems that is not active yet.

Interesting, I will have to look back at the timing of my last purchase from Carmina. Not sure if my state is impacted by this.

1) what this is (mold or just oxidation)
2) easy to clean, how?

Carmina is offering to take the pairs in but it’s developed on all my three pairs. Hate to part with them for so long if it’s an easy fix. Will it affect the leather?

I live in a humid climate but none of my viberg’s have this issue?

It's oxidation from the brass eyelets. Same thing happened on my C&J's. You can carefully use a flat head screwdriver to scrape it off. I haven't found it to have any impact on the leather though

Is there any solution to break it down or it’s just straight scraping it off? I’m worried it’ll discolor the leather

It should really be attached to the eyelets and not leather. The solution i provided came from my local cobbler

Using a flathead screwdriver sounds like high-risk, low reward lol. I've had this oxidation develop before and I went to town with brushing. After a few mins, it eventually came off. I would say maybe use a wooden toothpick, push down/dull-down the pointy part so it doesn't damage the leather and carefully pick off the oxidation.

Guess I should have done the old "ymmv" caveat ?

Just a heads up for anyone in the UK. I returned 3 pairs and to have them insured (as base insurance is only £100) I had to pay £115 postage! :brick:

If you used paypal you could have sent them as three seperate packages and claimed the return costs for each package so it would basically be free.

Sorry by solution I meant chemically like a liquid or otherwise that would dissolve it. Vinegar? Or would it just make it messy

Can you post back with the solution (liquid type) if you come up with one? I've never run into this issue but I am curious.
