Anyone ever MTO a boot using two different shades of shell? I'm thinking of doing a 7 eyelet NST with the vamp and counter in armagnac shell, while the shaft of the boot would be in bourbon. I've seen plenty of vamps in shell with a contrast color suede or tumbled shaft that looks great, just don't recall seeing two-tone shell and wondered how it'd look.

Honestly not too crazy about this look. There have been a couple of really wild pairs with like 5 shell colors and that actually works better for me. But with the pairs with just 2 colors look funny to me. But hey, to each their own. If you enjoy that look then rock it.

I’d say it depends on the style and colors. A Calway with a bourbon upper and Armagnac shaft (or rubi/burgundy) could work, for example. In general, though, I’d prefer mixing textures to mixing colors.

@dave_rawitat did the MTO with all the shell colors except black and it worked a lot better than I expected.

Haven’t MTO’d a multi-Shell boot, but I have a High Monkey Boot from Tricker’s that has 3 shades. I’m a fan.

Like all of us, I know you've been busy and probably missed the fine print on the MTO. That green marble is only approved for this model below, but I'll let them know tomorrow that you're fine with it so they can start to make it. The good news is that it comes on a bright green rubber moon-boot sole, so there is that. We'll look forward to seeing you in it!
Ah! There’s that x-thread humour I was looking for.

I have a very special Calway coming that may help answer this question in the near future.

wow! Those are really nice and turned out to be a very attractive contrast between the two shells, especially with one being grained. Thanks for sharing
Thanks man! I agree, I honestly thought it would turn out a bit “gimmicky” but it actually looks quite clean. It should look even better with time as the natural shell continues to darken

I think looks great for boots. It's definitely wider than Rain but shorter. I do feel that the instep is a bit lower, which fits me better.

@Betelgeuse This is a great makeup. I have a couple of questions. These are on Llubi (presumably)? Is this a modified 80488? Did you ask for a different type of stitching on the U-Tip than is ordinary? To me, the stitching on these looks a little bit different, and potentially a little more casual, than the stitching on their standard NST or other U-tip makeups that people have gotten. Is this something you asked for, or am I just seeing things?

Hello @Carmina
any plans to develop a short Chelsea boot like this?

Also, it would be nice to see a lazyman oxford too.

Here’s something similar on eBay now
