Need help with a description, not sure how to describe this thing. The wool is very rough and tweedish.

Not Ebay specific, but I have a case/dispute with a fellow styleforum member against me. Any tips? Eight weeks ago I sold a suit to some SF member, and after I had shipped the suit he found out that he would have to pay import taxes and customs fees. This was a huge problem for him, so I agreed to refund half of that sum (60$), just to be nice. Obviously this is something that a buyer has to know or find out, as various countries have different import laws. Anyway, so two weeks later the suit is out for delivery, but the buyer informs me that he has arranged a pickup at his local post office (where I assume it is right now). This was on March 25th, and I didn't hear anything back from him, assuming that he had picked it up, and everything was good. Yesterday, one day before the dispute window closes, I get a "Item not received" case against me, where he asks if the suit has been returned to me, or if not, that I have hopefully insured the original shipment (which it is, at full price), hinting that he never bothered to pick up the package in the first place. What he spent the 60$ that was earmarked import taxes, I do not know. We are talking about 500$ here, so it's quite some money for me. It sounds to me like he got buyers remorse, or found something else, and simply thought that I'd get the shipment back sooner or later, and that he'd just open up a case. (This is why you keep every document of a shipment, and insure everything at full price).
If the tracking shows as held in customs or attempted customs, its not your responsibility and thats a win. Call Paypal if the tracking shows as such.

Proof of customs clearance and notification is all you need.

However if this is Germany, you are fucked.

Recently had my two best tie sales.

I was debating purchasing these because they were kind of expensive for a thrift.
Well damn looks like I made the right choice. Same buyer bought them both.

Am I just extremely tired and or tripping balls or did eBay start charging for auction listings?

Oh, it's real. They credit you back the listing fee if and when it sells. There is info on eBay about the changes.

Does that mean if you re-list, you get additional fees? That would really hurt me since I wear a very uncommon shoe size, and things take awhile to sell.

It's 10 cents, and on the bright side 10 day auctions no longer have a 10 cent upcharge. So it's a wash.

Additionally, if you have an odd size like that, maybe you should list with a fixed price, since a bidding war is going to be unlikely. Fixed price listings are still free insertion fee.

Not necessarily. I have won two such cases in Germany. Both were buyers who didn't want to pay the fees so they claimed that the item "was not received". I had to call US eBay. They set up a time for German eBay (same name but separate entities) to call me. On each occasion, German eBay called me EXACTLY at the pre-arranged time. Within 3 minutes of explaining the issue, both cases were solved in my favor.

Ah, that's ok then. And I appreciate the advice...I'm still pretty new to this, and am just doing "no rush" sales on some pairs that I don't really need anymore.
