I think the radiomir is quite a nice watch (a panerai without much of the clunkiness)
However the basic panerai diver with a sandwich dial and no date or other stuff on the black face combined with a brown strap still looks good to me.


It must be said they attract a certain type of clients that is certainly on the macho side but they are not all tasteless. The types that lice the unadorned military style panerais are no amjacks as far as I observed them in the wild....

The pimped up models are very gauche I must say. They look very.... yellow Countach or mint green Hummer to me.........

This has not been my experience. If I had to pick a Stripey Shirt Guy watch it would be a Rolex Sub replica.

You must have a different definition of tool. Are you thinking of "tool-like" watches? Both of these watches, especially Sinn, don't have enough brand recognition to appeal to a (well-off) AmJack, fool-with-money, etc.

Yes, but unlike some members, I did not feel it necessary to offend a broad swath of forumites with childish unfounded generalizations.

Generic Tag Heur and Movado watches do appeal to some overly status conscious people (classic Heur and historical models like Monza or Monaco exempted).

Too many years of arguing the Panerai aesthetic with WIS to pick that up. Some people get it, some don't.
