It's due to the wide, relaxed cut combined with a non-denim look. In the pictures, the light gray wash pattern almost looks more like wool trousers than denim. And old men often wear baggy ill fitting gray trousers.

I agree, very old man like. Nothing, provided you're ok with the stereotyped image it presents to others: stale, out of date, not adaptable, closed minded, in decline, unattractive. What shall you do with yourself when you reach 31? Will you perform some kind of bisexual vampire rebirth ritual?
Some people are in such a hurry to declare slim "over" and to waddle back to oversized, unflattering, baggy fits. Makes no sense to me.
