A useful trait. My "dishwasher-safe" Universal trial sample broke in its second run-through.
Sorry to hear that. I run mine on the normal cycle and they come out fine. The company I bought mine from said that you are more likely to break them by hand washing than by dishwashing. Restaurants use these glasses as well but they are truely thin...no getting around that.

Did the stem break from the bowl?

No, the bowl took it in the chin. Perhaps if I had a special basket for stemware that would help.

I think they are probably worth it...I am just trying to figure out where I will store the extra basket before I buy mine. It is very difficult to load my standard basket with giant wine glasses.

Well tonight I attempted to hand wash a Zalto Bordeaux and the bowl broke cutting both of my hands. I have done many hand washes before but clearly the dishwasher is safer...might have to go back to Zwiesels after all.

I just got the Zalto Universal. I like it but I don't love it, yet. Perhaps I should give it some time but it seems a bit tall and narrow. I am wondering if I should have bought the Zaltos Bordeaux glass and used that as my universal glass. Any thoughts?
