and women's fashion never really interests me all that much, but that collection is really great, does she do men's clothes too?

Limi Feu ( Limi Yamamoto ) is YYF rock and roll style. Some people question whether she is the true heir to the Yohji Throne, I personally think she is great, so does my wife who is a huge fan and a collector of hers. She designs with attitude, hence the label " Feu " aka fire.

She likes to use male models ( and sometimes asian female models ) to showcase her collections on the catwalk from time to time, just like Yohji-San likes using models of all shapes and ages for his PH show. She is also very supportive of her dad's ( whom she still calls daddy ) work. She was at the YYF show last night doing his PR from start to finish, head to toe in black in her own clothes, looking incredible. Perfect father-and-daughter act

I mean Limi has that signature oversized silhouette but with a large dose of black, red, punk and fun, not implying she will/should take over Femme.

The man had been busy designing, creating this SS13, I need to look at the video carefully ( from my camera ) to form a definite judgement ( saying that, who am I to judge him? I don't wear women's clothes for crying out loud so can never have that female perspective and put on the clothes to assess ). But there were 60+ Looks on this Runway, compared with 30 odd 40 Looks from recent YYF seasons ..... there was certainly no lack of effort. From 25 feet away, the fabrics were incredible.

Tim Blanks, catwalk reviewer extraordinaire, was at the show too. Within a few hours he posted a not so glowing review on Style.com.

i just read the review and indeed it is very poor. but who really believes in fashion journalism these days? tim blanks is treated like king in milan (full accommodation and driver by Burberry, free clothes from Prada etc.) at least he is honest at this yohji review, that was probably the reason why showed up so fast. i hope yohji read the last sentence and come back stronger for winter

Thought I made use of the good weather this weekend while the sun is out ( but not that warm )
Y's Yohji Yamamoto AW05 Pitti Uomo Tartan 2B blazer ( MN-J07-128 ) excellent 52/48 wool/linen soft hand blend, Cut-away style, superb construction, off-white cotton lining, size 3 ( passed on by Wire the Legend ) very boxy, great short silhouette, I had the sleeves tailored. Worn over a basic Tee.

Y's for men AW08 cotton pants ( ME-P52-074 ) 100% cotton, thick interlocked with double lining, feels like wool, size 2, huge drawstring waist ( >40" ) and length ( tailored to be folded twice lol ) Very oversized but it's comfort I'm after these days. CDG H+ belt, Timberland shoes.

agreed, while i have yet to see the stuff up close, the collection does look beautiful, would be great to see more ladies rocking this stuff esp with all the color !

i remember speaking with Luis in louvre store about this, Limi taking over at least for women's side, obviously just speculative but he's been with them for 30 years, and even he seemed hesitant to say anyone would continue the work afterward. well at least we know yohji doesn't fancy sitting in the countryside not doing these collections

I just thought it's difficult to judge a women's collection from a male's perspective, especially when the designer is Yohji. As we know from the PH line, the clothes are all about an experience, about putting on a garment and move with it. The same should apply to his Femme line which requires a long time Yohji Femme wearer /fan to conclude if the collection hits the spot. Of course we are all entitled to an opinion but if I were a women I would not listen to a man about what he thinks about a women's collection.

My wife went with me to the show and she definitely liked it. Very wearable, stunning fabrics, some shoes had impossibly thin soles were her words! No show-stoppers like Look 1 of SS12 ( the paper/tissue hat cost €6900 in Cambon ) for sure but doesn't mean it's better or worse.

Thanks Mr Shah, well it was good enough for Wire.Artist, it certainly is good enough for me. It was from the AW05 Pitti Uomo show where it was layered OVER a longer beige blazer, such an original styling idea. So if you want to do that, you'll def need a sz 4 and another blazer with the exact buttonhole placement, otherwise sz 3 is plenty roomy enough with very long sleeves ( 68cm ).

yes it's sitting there tempting me ! i almost got it from wire.artist last year but i hesitated

the only issue is with extreme cutaways, when paired with drop-crotch style trousers, make your midsection look rather massive
