Maybe he bought it from someone who claimed that it was from BE and he bought it. How would the OP know that it was authentic?

Why not? I cannot tell the difference between vicuna and cashmere. BTW I just caught the dapper dog in the picture I posted......Scorsese does dress his extras well.

He might really have done so - more likely, the guy who sold it to him told him that. There IS a real chance OP got taken for a ride by some seller or some tailor, whoever he got the coat from. I'd even go so far as to say I'd think that's more likely.

I have removed my finger guesture photo. It was wrong to begin with. If it is fake, I'll keep it either way.

No worries. No offense taken, hopefully non-given.

Well yes. But more importantly, is that an authentic vintage Mighty Ducks t-shirt behind him? PS, Sorry about the coat, but as is with out the back story, it is a very nice coat just the same.

What was it like getting that second buttonhole added? Kind of like when you got ripped a new one in this thread? Let us know when you put it on ebay and claim it is authentic!

Not a Snarky response. Post was not clear about the fabric. Scorcese knows how to count money to and I'm sure a good quality cashmere would do just fine and save the production $40K. Take a pic of the mill label the tailor sewed in it, it would be either Scabal, Holland & Sherry or Loro Piana.

I find it hard to believe they would go so completely over the top with a prop. everyone works on a budget of some kind
