A good way.

They're the kind of cloths you have your work suits made out of. Hardy stuff, nothing fancy.

The Town Classics book has some nice full-milled chalkstripes. Very English.

It's a Skoda cloth. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is right there.

On the encouragement of thread I have decided to commission some things in Fresco.
I am looking at 0516 for a jacket and was considering making that into a blazer-suit since it seems versatile enough. Your thoughts?
The 8/9 oz Fresco seems too light for what it is and I would just as soon get something from Lesser's 8/9 range if I were going for that weight. 0516 and the 9/10 oz range seem more sturdy. I liked 0530 and think it would make a nice pair of odd trousers.

Interested to hear your thoughts about the weight and blazersuit-ability of these choices.

Has anyone tried the mohair blends at the back of the book? They seem a little fancily finished for my tastes but the weave is nice.

Personally, I dislike my lightweight Fox flannel, wrinkles pretty bad. Plus they don't run warmer than the heavier ones.
Durable is alright.

Which one would you have? It'd be for shoulder season, no need to be winter warm.

I have a couple - the light grey and the grey/blue/red PoW. Wore them both quite a bit last Fall - durability is good for the weight imo, but certainly poor when compared to the more traditional 14oz-15oz.flannels.

If you really want a flannel in that weight, then Fox would be fine (and certainly better than the comparable flannels from Draper's, H&W, LP). Just don't expect it to perform like a 15oz. Minnis flannel.

I once tried to order one from Solito and he really, really hated it. Did not want to make it. Steered me to Draper's instead. I'm happy with what I got so I guess I'll never know.

I have worsted flannel from Harrison and Lesser, both of which are great.

What do you mean 'perform' like a 15 oz Minnis flannel? Do you mean in terms of durability and warmth, or how it looks like when made up?

Well, I'm concentrating on replacing the basics at the moment: the last remains of the first pieces of "proper clothing" I bought after graduation and which were all I could afford. I'd like to have to mid-weight blue odd jackets. The first one, a Hardy worsted alsport blue herringbone, will be finished by the end of the month, but I was looking at a light flannel one for the second one, in order to have some variety. Any other ideas?

By the way, with lighter weight, I'm referring to the 10/11oz. It seems that there is 8oz as well, but that seems a bit over the top to me. I'd rather have a tropical in that weight, I think.
