But if you are going to spam the site, wouldn't it make more sense to spam it in English? Not that I'm trying to tell the miscreants how to do their jobs.

Spamming makes very little sense whether it's in english or korean

It can be just backlinks generation so you can spam Google (the more backlinks on non-spam sites, the higher your ranking in search results). The arms race between spammers and content sites is as old as the internet.

Why don't you simply queue any post containing Hangul for moderation or outright exclude them though? This forum is in English, and implementing it is a simple regex (could be a database constraint). Then the human moderators can focus on the more important task of stopping shills and trolls.

Why will having a simple 'Capture' type requirement for people wanting to join: Enter a 'variable number' or 'prove you are not a robot' tick box would surely stop it at source?
