It means if you insured the ring then lose it you get replacement value on the ring though not exactly what you paid for the ring.  If you sell it you get even less than replacement.  Not saying commit insurance fraud but that is what this would be.

Ah - got it...

Furthermore, JLC has often been content to be in the background.

I'm sure having the same owners as Lange is one reason - careful brand positioning. Perhaps not as blatant a hierarchy as Swatch's stable, but it has to be a factor.

As requesed, a wrist shot. This is the older, smaller version of this watch (3919). It was a wedding present from my wife.

that elegance! congratulations ... everything is perfect. The clock is at the center of the stage while all the other characters are in place perfectly. From the cufflinks and shirt dress.

Sorry I've been AWOL my TWAT brethren. Am enjoying a little time off from the cold.

Happy vacay indeed! I figured you might have been in some tropical locale.

The ocean really brings out the green in the Nautilus. That watch is such a chameleon.

Richemonts ownership of Lange and VC may be a factor, but I think its of a limited degree. JLC was content being in the background when they supplied movements to Patek, AP, and VC, in the 1970s and earlier, which was long before Lange was resurrected and long before JLC was under the same ownership as Lange and VC.
